Otovo, InCharge partner for nationwide solar and storage effort
Norwegian energy services firm Otovo and EV charging installer InCharge Energy have partnered to provide a single service relationship for solar, battery storage, and EV charging equipment across the U.S.
The partnership allows both companies to offer each other’s preventative maintenance plans for renewable energy projects, according to officials. Otovo brings its Endurance brand AI platform to the relationship, logging, dispatching, and closing any job within the two companies against one record of the site.
The firms stress that each company will continue to sell and perform under its own brand.
“We built this partnership around a simple idea: a customer shouldn’t need multiple vendors just because their energy assets came from different systems,” says Otovo CEO William J. (John) Berger. “By joining forces on commercial energy service, we can seamlessly integrate work orders through Endurance, giving customers one call and one relationship instead of separate vendors and contracts for every system on site.”
By combining the services of the two companies, Otovo and InCharge have created a network of more than 100,000 renewable energy assets. Representatives from the firms say the focus now is drawing on that scale.
Pulling from an established base
Otovo currently services a customer base of more than 60,000, according to company estimates. Additionally, InCharge’s InControl software program connects more than 40,000 EV charging assets. The latter company’s broader network also spans every U.S. state and Canadian province and staffs more than 100 field workers.
That scale, the companies say, will bolster their combined mission to expand the partnership into new markets.
“Technology alone doesn’t keep critical energy infrastructure operating – it takes highly-skilled people in the field,” says InCharge Energy CEO Rich Mohr. “Otovo and InCharge have both made significant investments in technical talent and electrical field service capabilities, and we will continue to invest as these systems become more critical to our customers’ operations.
“By utilizing InControl and Endurance together, we can bring better asset intelligence to our field teams and enable a more proactive approach to how EV charging, solar, battery storage and supporting electrical infrastructure are managed and maintained.”
The combined also aims to address a “structural gap” in the commercial energy world. For many customers with multiple energy assets on the same property, those assets normally all hold separate contracts. This initiative by Otovo and InCharge allows their network to be the one-time response commitment and point of contact for all a given customer’s solar, battery, EV charging, and backup generator assets.
