Real Goods Solar Files Registration Statement with SEC for Unit Offering of Common Stock and Warrants

LOUISVILLE, Colo., June 08, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Real Goods Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq:RGSE) today filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed public offering of units comprised of one share of Real Goods Solar Class A common stock, par value $0.0001 per share, and one warrant to purchase a fractional share of Real Goods Solar common stock.

Net proceeds to Real Goods Solar, Inc. are expected to be used for general corporate purposes including, without limitation, to reduce the company’s current accounts payable balances, pay down its revolving loan facility, for working capital purposes to increase sales and operational capabilities and/or for any scheduled repayment of indebtedness. The company will retain broad discretion over the use of proceeds from the offering. At the 16th Annual General Meeting of SolarWorld AG today in Bonn, CEO Dr.-
Ing. E. h. Frank Asbeck emphasized the growth potential of solar power
technology and the opportunities for the SolarWorld group in his speech:

GRID2020 Completes Ontario Ministry Of Energy Demonstration Project

TORONTO, June 07, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — GRID2020, Inc., a leading Distribution Transformer Monitoring solutions provider announced today that it has successfully completed its $1.6M demonstration project. The GRID20/20 intra-grid sensor solution project was sponsored by the Ministry of Energy and funded in part through the Ontario Smart Grid Fund initiative.

The pioneering technology offered by GRID20/20 was deployed within targeted segments of two Local Distribution Companies (LDCs) in Ontario.  The project included a series of activities designed to advance the evolution of intra-grid sensors which enable LDCs to improve operating efficiencies, embrace energy conservation practices, identify unauthorized power losses, and gain insight into the performance of assets within their grid space.

GRID20/20 has developed a “Best-In-Class”, turnkey, Plug & Play Distribution Transformer Monitoring (DTM) solution that helps to create extensive visibility into the grid, provides powerful proactive management capabilities for LDCs/utilities, and allows for improved power efficiency including the embracing of energy conservation practices.  The next step for GRID20/20 is to advance onto meaningful commercial penetration in Ontario.

Anasazi Energy Corporation agrees to acquire Solar Quartz Technologies Limited in a transaction valued at US$530 Million

HOUSTON, June 07, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Anasazi Energy Corporation (OTC.US:ANSZ) today announced the Company has entered into a Reorganization and Stock Purchase Agreement (RSPA) with Solar Quartz Technologies Limited, incorporated in New Zealand. The parties have agreed that the value of SQT’s assets and future cash flows is US$530 million.  Final closing is scheduled for on or before June 30, 2016.

Upon closing, the name of ANSZ will be changed to Solar Quartz Technologies, Inc. (“SQTI”), with a new trading symbol. ANSZ will issue shares of common stock as payment to SQTI that will be equivalent to 95% of the Company’s shares on issue. The Company does not anticipate any further reorganization of its common stock. Upon closing, SQTI plans to immediately prepare audited financial statements and become fully reporting with the SEC, and then uplift SQTI to trade on the more senior OTCQX exchange or NASDAQ.  SQTI anticipates qualifying to trade on a more senior exchange prior to December 2016.

SRV to participate in modernisation of Lappeenranta campus area

SRV will participate in the development of the Skinnarila campus in Lappeenranta by renovating the premises of Lappeenranta University of Technology and Saimaa University of Applied Sciences. In addition to the renovation, the usability and diversity of the premises will be improved by building attractive meeting places and reconfigurable workspaces for campus users. Aihio Arkkitehdit Oy is responsible for the architectonic aspects of the project. The value of the construction work of the project, which was launched in May 2016, is approximately EUR 31 million, and the renovation and modification work is expected to be completed in November 2018.

“The project to be implemented for University Properties of Finland Ltd will justifiably arouse interest in SRV. We have built and renovated cradles of science throughout Finland, including Tampere University of Technology’s Campus Arena, Helsinki University’s Main Library and campus buildings at the University of Jyväskylä, and we are currently developing Aalto University’s campus area in Otaniemi. The Skinnarila campus renovation and modernisation project is a fine addition to these,” says Production Director Antti Raunemaa, who is responsible for the project in SRV.

The buildings of the Skinnarila campus were constructed in stages between 1973 and 2004, and the oldest buildings have been in use without significant renovations for over 40 years. The need to renovate the properties is acute, because the building systems, structures and facilities are to a large extent original. In connection with the renovation, the energy efficiency of the campus will also be a focus of attention. Measures according to the Green Campus ideology will be prepared, utilising opportunities to connect solar energy and lake heat as well as taking into account in construction the criteria of Healthy House implementation.

In connection with the project, the functionality of the campus will be developed in accordance with the objectives of Lappeenranta University of Technology and Saimaa University of Applied Sciences, and use of premises will be enhanced by adding multipurpose facilities and by compacting use of space. At the campus will be built attractive meeting places and reconfigurable workspaces, which will support various forms of learning and learning environments. Minor repairs and modifications will also be made to campus laboratory facilities. The total floor area of the campus of approximately 68,000 square metres will not grow significantly as a result of the changes.

Coast Citrus Completes 622 Kilowatt Roof-Top Solar Array on San Diego Headquarters

SAN DIEGO, May 31, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Coast Citrus Distributors, a wholesaler of fruits and vegetables in the United States and Mexico since 1950, is proud to announce the completion and operation of a 622 kilowatt roof-mount solar energy system on its headquarters in San Diego. Borrego Solar Systems Inc. developed, designed and built Coast Citrus’ system. The system will generate approximately 1.1 million kilowatt-hours of energy in its first year, which will provide enough power to meet about 40 percent of the facility’s current energy needs, resulting in an estimated 30 percent reduction in energy costs.

“We took a hard look at our energy expenditure and the utility rates we were paying, which are expected to continue rising, and realized that by investing in solar we would be able to save money and mitigate risk over the long-term,” said Coast Citrus Chief Financial Officer Isabel Freeland. “Going solar fits with a few core values we have here at Coast Citrus, which are to provide value to our customers and to continue improving our operations. Solar enables us to cut our energy costs and shrink our carbon footprint, making us a more efficient organization in more ways than one.”

Coast Citrus received incentive funds from the California Solar Initiative and financed the remaining amount with a seven year operational lease with Farmers and Merchant Bank. The lease enabled the company to go solar without paying any upfront costs and realize cost savings as soon as the system began operating.

“Coast Citrus is a perfect candidate for incorporating on-site solar generation into its energy management strategy,” said Kyle Kearney, VP of project development—Western region for Borrego Solar. “From ripening rooms that need to be kept at set temperatures to freezers, refrigerators and packing machinery, the company relies on a vast array of energy intensive equipment that needs to be running constantly. By deploying solar, Coast Citrus is able to reduce the amount of energy it needs to buy from the utility and minimizes its exposure to increasing energy costs while it continues to expand operations.”

Throughout the term of the lease, the system is expected to generate enough emissions-free, clean energy to offset more than 2,200 tons of carbon dioxide—the equivalent of offsetting emissions from 4.2 million miles driven or the amount sequestered by more than 1,460 acres of U.S. forests.
