Otovo reaches 30,000 customers to solve ‘orphaned solar’ crisis

Norwegian energy service provider Otovo ASA has reached 30,000 customers across the U.S. and Europe, thanks in large part to the growing number of unsupported solar systems in both areas.
Of those 30,000 customers, 20,000 have enrolled in the company’s Otovo Care program. Powered by the company’s proprietary AI platform, Endurance, the membership-based home and commercial energy program aims to solve the solar industry’s orphaned system problem, Otovo says.
“Reaching 30,000 customers in less than year is proof positive that home and business owners value their power systems,” says William J. Berger, CEO of Otovo. “The ‘solar service crisis’ that is leaving millions of orphaned energy systems without support is driving strong interest in our Otovo Care membership program. Every day your home or commercial power system is not working, you are throwing money away.”
The company’s rapid response service platform exists to fix a growing problem in the solar industry: unsupported systems that are still in operation, even if their company has shut its doors.
Giving homes to orphaned systems
The residential solar sector’s extreme growth over the past few years has left installations across the U.S. without support, Otovo officials say. The company says that this service crisis has left millions of homeowners and businesses deserted in the solar landscape, without a way to maintain their solar assets.
“Home and business owners are realizing that solar ownership doesn’t end at installation,” says Berger. “We have quickly become the leading service provider for residential and commercial customers. The double whammy of skyrocketing energy prices and lack of service have created a void in the market that Otovo is here to fill.”
Otovo’s programs provide energy system support for solar, as well as energy storage battery systems and generators. The firm says its Otovo Care membership is expected to help solar owners avoid unexpected downtime and maximize value, the company says.
Additionally, the firm’s Endurance artificial intelligence platform is able to continuously monitor customer systems, even if those systems are orphaned. The company’s solutions are delivered through a virtual power plant, where homeowners gain reliable power and dependable electrical service.
