Nextpower accelerates U.S. manufacturing with Apex Power purchase

Renewable energy technology company Nextpower has completed its acquisition of assets from Zigor Corp.’s power conversion business, most notably its U.S. subsidiary Apex Power Conversion.
Total considerations of the transaction include about $80.5 million in cash, according to a Nextpower report from May 2026.
The new product portfolio allows Nextpower to accelerate its U.S. manufacturing buildout, officials say, with deliveries set to ramp in early 2027. In total, the firm expects more than 10 GW of capacity to come online within the next calendar year.

The acquisition greatly expands Nextpower’s power technology sector, the company says, including UL-certified central inverters. The deal also includes products certified to IEC standards, available for sale in Europe and the rest of the world. The acquisition gives Nextpower the ability to manufacture proprietary inverter technology, and gives the firm access to global engineering talent in the U.S. and Spain.
Designing for utility-scale
Nextpower’s power conversion portfolio now offers modular configurations up to 5.2 MVA, according to the company. Designed for utility-scale solar and energy storage uses, the products come equipped with a hard-wired and secure optical fiber communications network, which operates at site-level for asset owners.
The platform is designed around field serviceability, the company says. This offers a second option from conventional inverter architecture, representatives add, which often require specialized tools or in-factory repairs.

Nextpower’s central inverters are now commercially available across the U.S. market, complete with full UL certification for utility-scale applications.
