Ampacity expands solar tracker installation program

Ampacity solar tracker installation employee training

Solar installation solutions firm Ampacity has expanded its education opportunities for installers with new options for both in-class and field training.

The company’s Customer Success Services team aims to share its collective decades of field knowledge of single-axis trackers. With the new educational program options, EPC teams throughout Ampacity’s network will be able to glean knowledge on large tracker brands across the company’s customer base in the small and medium utility-scale solar market.

“Our Customer Success training programs directly support our mission to simplify the entire solar design, procurement, and installation process for EPCs and developers,” says Evan Rubin, VP of sales for Ampacity.

The company’s newly-minted training services cover the full lifespan of a given solar project, representatives say. From site construction to quality assurance and ongoing maintenance, the Ampacity Customer Success trainers have training modules lasting between one and five days of both classroom and in-field sessions.

Training and services

The company’s customer success trainers are available for a number of different services, including demo row builds, site management training, and foundation installation training. Additionally, the site offers hands-on mechanical installation training known as a ‘Golden Row,’ O&M training opportunities, pre-kitting training, and project quality scorecards.

“In addition to Ampacity’s solar design, distribution and pre-kitting advantages, our Customer Success Services help our partners execute high-quality, efficient solar builds on time and under budget,” Rubin adds.

With the new educational programs, trainers will be able to travel to a designated location and build a demo row of solar trackers, the company says. These model rows will be available to union houses and other contractor training centers. Trainers will also be able to provide site management training, and may even guide onsite field crews themselves, through the construction of a full row of solar trackers.

“Preparing crews with all the knowledge and skills they need ahead of time is key to a successful solar tracker installation,” the company says. “Ampacity’s training programs equip teams with everything they need to install, maintain and repair tracker projects for many years to come.”
