SolarReviews and Solar Energy International (SEI) renewed their awesome partnership for 2023. In 2022, SolarReviews successfully funded the SolarReviews Scholarship, which provided solar training for U.S.-based Spanish Speakers. 2023 will see an expansion of this scholarship to support native Spanish speakers through SEI’s Hispanic and Latin American program with scholarships and program management support, along with the addition of a new fund focused on women interested in entering the solar field.
“As solar installations become more popular throughout the country, SolarReviews is committed to ensuring that access to working within the solar industry is available for everyone eager to pursue it. Being able to fund job training courses ensures that as the solar industry expands, the benefits can reach a diverse population,” said Andy Sendy, President of SolarReviews.
Last year, with the help of SolarReviews, SEI provided solar training to 22 Spanish-speaking candidates. The goal for 2023 is to double the number of scholarship recipients.
Additionally, 44 women from eight different countries were trained through SEI’s Women in Solar Power Program Scholarship Funds. SEI’s ambitious goal is to double the number of trained women with full scholarships throughout 2023.
“At SEI, we are strengthening our efforts to support Spanish speakers in the US and Latin America by offering accessible solar training in their spoken language. The continuous support of SolarReviews as our committed partner is helping us provide high-quality education to create career paths with job opportunities. Our goal is to grow a diverse, inclusive, and well-qualified clean energy workforce to help secure the solar industry’s vital role in the energy transition.” said Chris Turek, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.
To cater to everyone who is curious about solar, SolarReviews is launching an initiative to provide solar content written in Spanish for both Spanish-speaking installers and homeowners. As the largest website for homeowner research and solar panel installation companies in the U.S., expanding to provide inclusive content and solar job training is a way to bring the benefits of solar to every community.
