National Land Realty (NLR) has opened a comprehensive database for solar developers that offers access to the latest listings of available properties for solar projects.

Through the company’s proprietary mapping software and site identification process, it has compiled the most comprehensive database of prescreened sites, verified interest with the owners, and presented them in a simple package to expedite the search process and project timelines. The new site is now live.

“Our goal here is to take the mess out of real estate so developers can focus on what they do best, which is developing solar projects,” says Nathan Fabrick, Executive Vice President for NLR Commercial, a division of National Land Realty.

Since 2015, NLR has secured more than 700 solar development lease options in 22 states. NLR is a full-service real estate brokerage firm that offers a powerful combination of GIS technology with dynamic mapping platforms, land agent coverage, and unparalleled experience in solar land agreement negotiations. This enables developers to acquire the ideal real estate with much less risk.

“We personally contact the landowners, explain the solar development process, and confirm interest in moving forward,” said Fabrick. “Then NLR acts as an agent on the behalf of its partner—from negotiation to execution. This gives solar developers the time to focus their resources on development.”

NLR uses a proprietary, 20-point screening process to confirm the viability of a solar site, including wetlands/floodplains, utility infrastructure, and site characteristics. The company’s custom GPS mapping platform utilizes demographic and locational elements to efficiently target the appropriate site. Every landowner is briefed on the key terms of the project and the development process and has expressed interest in moving forward.

The NLR team is highly trained and experienced in solar land agreement acquisition and negotiations, as well as finding the best “off-market” opportunities. These services include informative summary packaging, which enables fast-tracked engineering review and an automated bidding process.
