Fortress Power eSpire Mini approved for Connecticut Green Bank C&I ESS program
Fortress Power is on a hot streak of acceptance in 2025 on the East coast. Green Mountain Power in Vermont added Fortress Power’s full battery lineup to its Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program in January. Earlier in April, Fortress Power’s new eForce battery was added to Duke Energy’s Battery Programs. And this week, the eSpire Mini energy storage system was approved for participation in the Connecticut Green Bank’s Energy Storage Solutions program. The eSpire Mini is the only C&I ESS product approved in the program for 208V 3-phase applications.

Connecticut Green Bank ESS program
The Energy Storage Solutions program, backed by the Connecticut Green Bank in collaboration with Eversource and UI (United Illuminating), is designed to improve energy reliability, lower peak demand costs, and support grid resilience throughout the state. This approval by Connecticut Green Bank opens the door for commercial and industrial customers to leverage the power of energy storage to reduce costs and support the electric grid.

• Upfront Incentives: Reduce up to 50% of the battery’s cost when agreeing to use stored energy to relieve grid stress during high-demand summer days for 10 years.
• Performance Incentives: Earn payments twice per year over a 10-year period based on the average power your system contributes during critical peak demand events.

Fortress Power eSpire Mini
Designed for commercial and industrial applications, the eSpire Mini is a battery energy storage system available in 208V or 480V configurations. The eSpire Mini offers a “turnkey micrgorid in a single enclosure,” according to Fortress. The system includes advanced EMS capabilities for customers to reduce peak demand charges, ensure energy reliability, and deploy load shifting strategies.
