APsystems announced U.S. launch of new plug-in microinverter

APsystems EZ1

APsystems has announced the launch of its EZ1 Plug-In Microinverter, enabling plug-in installations for balconies, terraces, gardens, and other small spaces and portable setups.

Company officials say the EZ1 will “expand national access to balcony and portable solar while reinforcing the company’s commitment to its installer and distribution partners.” Already available through “certified channels” since late last year, this more official launch marks a milestone in the APsystems’ push to make portable solar more available to the American public.

The new product removes the need for complex, large-scale wiring systems, and enables solar access for residences that normally would not support rooftop solar, according to Josh Levinson, the company’s VP of sales.

“As demand grows for smaller, more adaptable solar solutions, we see EZ1 as a way to help our partners capture new business,” Levinson says. “Rather than viewing DIY solar as competition, installers and distributors can turn it into a season of growth. EZ1 gives them a new way to reach homeowners seeking simple, affordable solar they can install themselves.”

As a multiplatform Module Level Power Electronics firm, APsystems has gained recognition around the solar industry for both its DS3 and QT2 rooftop microinverter products. With the new plug-in microinverter module, the company is thinking smaller than ever.

Plug-in, performance, and portability

The EZ1 is “designed for today’s higher-output solar panels,” supporting dual modules thanks to APsystems’ existing microinverter architecture, the company says. The system has shown peak efficiency of 97.3% and can deliver DC-to-AC conversion for homeowners.

“Its true plug-and-play design allows users to connect the system directly into a wall socket using the included AC cable and begin producing power immediately,” APsystems says of the new product. “Integrated Bluetooth provides real-time performance monitoring via smartphone, while built-in Wi-Fi enables seamless cloud connectivity for remote tracking and long-term energy insights.”

The product will be available in APsystems’ online store, allowing American homeowners to purchase this microinverter module directly for the first time. Customers will also be able to purchase a “complete solution” in the form of certified EZ1 kits.

APsystems aims to both broaden its customer base and strengthen its own potential for growth with the new microinverter product. The firm “identified a rising number of homeowners looking for smaller, flexible energy solutions” in the lead-up to the product launch, including balconies, patios, and smaller backyard spaces.

“As balcony and small-scale solar continue gaining momentum globally, APsystems is helping lead the category in the American market,” the company says, “making clean energy more attainable for households previously excluded from traditional solar adoption.”
