Sol-Ark partners with OpenSolar for solar and storage design overhaul

Inverter and battery storage provider Sol-Ark has formed a partnership with the OpenSolar energy storage design platform, according to officials from the two firms.
Formally announced Sept. 14, the partnership agreement aims to simplify solar and storage design for installers across the U.S. Users will be able to design, model, and generate proposals for any solar plus storage system under the Sol-Ark umbrella, from directly within the OpenSolar platform. The companies say the software partnership works by “streamlining the path from system design to project execution.”
“As demand for resilient, energy-independent power solutions continues to grow, installers need technology that removes friction from every stage of the sales and design process,” says David Norman, director of product marketing at Sol-Ark. “By bringing Sol-Ark products into OpenSolar, we’re making it easier for installers to create accurate system designs, generate professional proposals, and confidently deliver reliable solar-plus-storage solutions to their customers.”
The platform integration will also give installers full access to Sol-Ark’s portfolio of inverters, battery systems, and system configurations inside the OpenSolar program. The companies say that installers will able to model system performance, evaluate battery backup capabilities, generate proposals for customers, and deliver optimized versions of residential and commercial solar projects, all within the same program workflow.
In pursuit of efficiency
The partnership plans to bring the two companies together for the purpose of creating a more efficient installer and design experience. Representatives from Sol-Ark say the platform integration will simplify system design, proposal generation, and project planning.
In total, the collaboration helps installers to reduce the overall complexity of creating renewable energy solutions in the solar and storage space.
“We’re excited to partner with Sol-Ark, a company recognized for its commitment to installer success and innovation in energy storage,” says Andrew McGuigan, OpenSolar’s general manager of the Americas at OpenSolar. “Together, we’re providing solar professionals with a more seamless way to design, quote, and deploy high-performance solar-plus-storage systems, helping them serve customers more efficiently and grow their businesses.”
OpenSolar currently serves “thousands” of solar and storage industry professionals around the world, the company says. By incorporating Sol-Ark’s hybrid inverter system and storage products into the company platform, the company will allow installers to improve speed, accuracy, and customer confidence in inverter and energy storage product technology.
