Fronius GEN24 Plus battery compatibility upgrade now available
Since launching the GEN24, Fronius USA has made sure to mention GEN24 Plus and UP.storage would be coming soon — an upgrade that transforms the Fronius GEN24 inverter series into the advanced Fronius GEN24 Plus. Well, that day is officially here. The GEN24 Plus version and the over-the-air upgrade are available for purchase starting Nov. 18, 2024.

The Fronius GEN24 Plus allows homeowners to add the upcoming BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM-US to their system. When purchasing a Fronius GEN24, all hybrid inverter features are already active. However, any standard version can be upgraded to a Plus version via an over-the-air software upgrade in Fronius Solar.web: UP.storage:

- Battery Compatibility: Ensure your existing Fronius GEN24 inverter is connected to the BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM-US for the UP.storage upgrade.
- Visit the Solar.web Webshop: Access the upgrade in your Solar.web account under the product registration tab.
