BLUETTI launches SORA 500 Portable Solar Panel for RV market
Portable energy and RV energy solutions firm BLUETTI has debuted its new SORA 500 Portable Solar Panel product for the American RV market.
The BLUETTI team designed the new 500-watt solar panel with the express purpose of utilization during RV travel and camping, officials say. The product has a variety of uses in the realm of off-grid power, the company adds, and addresses the issue of supplying high-efficiency solar charging without sacrificing too much storage space on a customer’s RV.
“RV travelers often struggle to balance high wattage with limited space,” the company says. “This 500W portable solar panel resolves that trade-off by folding 500W of rated solar output into a compact 22.4 x 17.5 x 3.3-inch frame—packing down like a slim camp table. Weighing 28.4 (pounds), it moves between an RV, campsite, garage, or backyard without permanent installation.”
Built with “premium” N-Type monocrystalline solar cells, the new panel is completely foldable and offers up to 25% conversion efficiency. The panel features an ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) coating, which representatives say make it easier to clean after outdoor use on campsite conditions.
Testing the new panel
BLUETTI’s third-party testing of the new panel delivered promising results, the company says. The panel requires a standard MC4 connectors, helping it to pair easily with compatible solar generators and other portable power solutions.
The new product offers fully tailored electrical solutions for a variety of mobile applications, the company says, as the U.S. reaches into peak RV and travel season. BLUETTI has been able to integrate the new panel across a number of flagship power setups, including its Elite 300 kits for road trips, as well as the Apex 300 Solar Generator for extended off-grid camping, and its RVSolar 5kWh RV Kit for full-time off-grid living.
The company also offers an RV Power Solution Guide on its website, detailing the uses of the new panel in each of its systems.
The SORA 500 is available now on BLUETTI’s website, with retail pricing starting at $799, according to officials. The company’s RV Power Solution Guide is also available for free as part of the website’s features.
