Array Technologies launches Atlas line of tracker foundation products
Solar tracking technology firm Array Technologies has unveiled an expansion of its foundation to tracker product portfolio, introducing its Array Atlas line of products.
The Array team designed the Atlas portfolio as an exclusive set of solutions for both Array trackers and APA foundations, the company says. Aiming to enhance technical interoperability for both sets of products, the Atlas line promises design flexibility across projects in both standard conditions, and those with “challenging” soil.
“For decades, developers have relied on commodity steel piles that were never engineered as part of the tracker system,” says Josh Von Deylen, CEO of Array subsidiary APA Solar Racking. “Atlas changes that by bringing the foundation and tracker interface together in a purpose-built solution that helps customers install faster, source more efficiently, and execute projects with greater confidence.”
The Atlas line exists as “an engineered alternative to existing foundation approaches,” according to Array representatives. The product line provides two optimized, and cost-effective solution for the tracker market.
The Atlas I, designed for standard soil conditions, offers an adjustable steel C-channel and bearing interface, the firm says. The product offers reduced deformation risk, shortening the foundation and separating it from a tracker’s interface.
Conversely, the Atlas II has been designed for challenging soil conditions with a dual-leg interface connected to engineered foundations. The design has better installation efficiency than ever before, the firm adds, as well as enhanced adaptability.
Reimagining foundation-to-tracker connection
Both of these product configurations, the company says, are in service of defragmenting the relationship between foundations and trackers. The company aims to give customers flexibility of installation, as well as procurement resilience, better wire management, and project certainty.
“The launch of Atlas represents another milestone following ARRAY’s acquisition of APA Solar, a premier solar racking and foundations solutions provider, in 2025,” the company says. “By combining ARRAY’s leadership in solar tracking with APA’s expertise in foundation engineering, the companies are accelerating the development of integrated solutions that simplify project execution from the ground up.”
The product line’s two configurations are both built around a common bearing housing platform, the company says. This platform enables customers to pair the right foundation solution for their site, while also maintaining a “consistent tracker interface.”
The Atlas I and II solutions are designed to work in tandem with the continuous scaling of utility-scale solar projects, Array says. As labor, supply chain, and schedule issues continue to risk, developers are consistently looking for integrated solutions that reduce as much risk as possible.
Array Technologies’ Atlas I and II are available for purchase as of July 29.
