EnergyAid adds Titan Solar IP to growing solar services empire

EnergyAid is dedicated to reviving and repowering legacy solar systems, which suffer from reduced efficiency and lost savings. Often, these legacy solar systems have been stranded by the original installer (or inverter manufacturer) who is no longer in business, which is a growing problem that will keep on growing in this down residential solar market.

Seeing that opportunity, EnergyAid has acquired intellectual property from several larger solar installation companies that have recently gone bankrupt. We reported on acquisitions of Sunworks and Solcius in March, and the company added Titan Solar Power’s intellectual property last week, to support “tens of thousands” of stranded Titan customers. Titan Solar Power filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in June 2024.

In 2024, EnergyAid serviced more than 12,000 solar systems, helping homeowners regain control of their solar investment.

EnergiAid’s service approach

Through remote diagnostics, early issue detection, and efficient repair services, EnergyAid aims to prevent costly disruptions and ensure uninterrupted solar energy production for homeowners.

“Too many homeowners have been left in the dark by companies that promised long-term service and then disappeared,” said Nick Sherman, CEO of EnergyAid. “By integrating Titan’s monitoring network into our platform, we are restoring trusted solar repair and maintenance support for these customers.”

Unlike companies that rely on subcontractors, EnergyAid hires, trains, and deploys 45 service technicians as direct employees to ensure consistent quality, accountability, and expertise in every service call.

As part of its ongoing expansion, EnergyAid is launching a new membership program this month, offering exclusive benefits such as proactive system monitoring, remote troubleshooting, priority service scheduling, discounted repair rates, and insights into the latest industry advancements.

EnergyAid repowering

EnergyAid inverter service

As an increasing number of homeowners deal with aging solar systems and outdated DC inverters, EnergyAid repowers older solar systems which suffer from reduced efficiency and lost savings. As such, EnergyAid replaces inefficient or failing inverters with modern, flexible solutions that extend system life while increasing energy production.

“While solar technology is quite mature, many thousands of systems deployed in the past 20 years are showing their age, and we found that the repowering market contains tremendous opportunity and value,” Sherman said.

They’ve specifically sourced Tigo EI inverters for many of these jobs. Tigo has refined the commissioning flow within the EI Residential Solar Solution, to reduce setup time. Over the past quarter, EnergyAid has facilitated more than 100 inverter replacements with Tigo’s enhanced support.

“As a residential solar maintenance and repair provider that clocked in 600 completed service appointments per week last year, we’ve experienced firsthand how Tigo’s commitment to installer success translates into tangible improvements in the field,” Sherman says.
