RE+ is next week: Here’s the panels, trainings and happy hours BayWa r.e. has planned
On the most recent episode of Power Forward!, after a discussion about the Inflation Reduction Act and solar product trends, we get a sneak peek at what solar distributor BayWa r.e. has planned for RE+. If you’re headed to Anaheim next week, you’ll want to check these out.
Now I want to turn our attention to the most exciting event of the year – RE+, which is in Anaheim, Calif., this year. Everyone in the solar industry is obviously keeping a close eye on it even more so with everything that we just talked about. Scott, tell us what’s going on this year from a BayWa r.e. perspective.
Snyder: First and foremost, everybody’s really excited to get there, get around their colleagues again and see all the new tech David has mentioned already. I’ve been to five myself and it’s going to be great to see everybody back in person again.
One thing that’s really important to us is we’re going to be doing some surveying this year. These events it’s always hard to have the amount of people we’re staffing the booth because we’re having meetings with our customers, with each other, with our vendors and manufacturers, and we really are going to make a concerted effort this year to hear back from our current customers, installers and contractors and maybe ones that we’re not working with.
What about in terms of events and trainings? I know BayWa always has a big lineup of things going on.
Dunlap: Preston Booker will be speaking in conjunction with Bodhi (Sept. 20 at 12:30 p.m.), talking about adding value with repeat visits and different kinds of add-ons. That’ll be a good one to watch. I’ll be part of a panel discussion around the future of energy storage energy management (Sept. 20 at 4:30 p.m.) , and we’ll touch on some more of this.
Snyder: We’re going to be in meeting room 210B.
- SMA’s going be there for some networking and a lunch at 12 p.m. on Tuesday
- Wednesday at 10 a.m. we’re going to have a demo by PV Pallet (which David touched on earlier in the chat).
- We’re going to have a lunch and learn with IronRidge, with the panel talking about finding and retaining the best talent in the industry.
- And then also on Wednesday is a “get to know us” by Hanwha Qcells. This is a great time to look at their panels, and that’s going to be at 2 p.m.
That’s all well and good — those trainings sound really great — but now it’s like 3 or 3:30, you know, let’s get into the real fun here. What else does BayWa have planned?
Snyder: Wednesday at the end of the session, starting at 3 p.m. (until 6 p.m.) in the biergarten on the main show floor, we’re going to be hosting a happy hour, and it’s a great opportunity that we’ve really missed out on the last couple years to get everybody together to share things we’ve learned throughout the day. Our brains get really full, and it’s just nice to be able to talk with our colleagues.
The other happy hour we’re involved with is on Tuesday evening that we’re co-hosting with Panasonic in their booth. That one starts at 3:30 pm. There’s going to be some raffles, some Amazon gift cards. Panasonic’s a great partner of BayWa r.e.’s, and so we’re really excited to be working with them to again.
If you missed the Inflation Reduction Act chat and discussion of solar product trends, be sure to watch the whole episode.
