Brooklyn SolarWorks is the first solar now approved for NYC Accelerator program
Solar energy developer-installer in New York City, Brooklyn SolarWorks, was recently accepted into the NYC Accelerator Service Provider Program. The timing is perfect for Brooklyn SolarWorks, which recently established a dedicated specialty projects division, Solar for Construction, specializing in solar integration for new construction and renovation projects.
“We are grateful to be recognized by NYC Accelerator as a qualified service provider,” said Brooklyn SolarWorks’ CEO, T.R. Ludwig. “We are looking forward to leveraging this accreditation to expand our reach throughout the city to help building owners achieve their decarbonization goals and create healthier, more energy-efficient spaces for residents and tenants.”
Brooklyn SolarWorks has completed more than 2,000 residential and commercial installations within New York’s five boroughs. The company specializes in custom installation and design methods, including its patented Brooklyn Solar Canopy, which elevates panels above obstructions commonly found on NYC rooftops to maximize solar potential.
Brooklyn SolarWorks’ hyperlocal focus has allowed them to expertly navigate complex permitting requirements and remain on the forefront of solar policy in the city and state.
New York’s sustainable state of mind
NYC Accelerator is a program of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice designed to put the city on a pathway to carbon neutrality while building healthier, safer communities. The NY Accelerator Service distinction positions Brooklyn SolarWorks as a trusted resource for building owners and operators seeking to decarbonize their properties to comply with Local Law 97:
Most buildings over 25,000 square feet are required to meet new energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions limits as of 2024, with stricter limits coming into effect in 2030. The goal is to reduce the emissions produced by the city’s largest buildings 40 percent by 2030 and net zero by 2050.
With its new Solar for Construction service, Brooklyn SolarWorks can cater to architects, developers, and general contractors seeking to incorporate solar energy into their projects. Brooklyn SolarWorks is focused on growth in the multifamily and commercial solar market segments.
As an NYC Accelerator Service Provider, Brooklyn SolarWorks provides a comprehensive suite of solar solutions that reduce energy and contribute to the decarbonization of New York City, including expert property assessments, customized solar plan development, streamlined installation, and assistance with navigating incentives and financing options.
