Trinasolar supply chain earns top marks from TÜV Rheinland
Trinasolar has received TÜV Rheinland’s AA rating for PV supply chain traceability covering all stages from polysilicon to modules. The AA rating is the highest possible rating, and Trinasolar is the first in the industry to achieve it.
“Strong supply chain traceability is a key indicator of transparency and reliability,” stated Xia Bo, SVP of TÜV Rheinland’s Products Division for Greater China. “Trinasolar has become the first in the industry to achieve the highest full-chain rating from polysilicon to modules, demonstrating its outstanding supply chain management capabilities.”
TÜV Rheinland conducted an on-site audit of Trinasolar’s supply chain traceability mechanisms. The evaluation included a rigorous assessment of the company’s supply chain management policies, system capabilities, and on-site execution. The audit aimed to verify the raw materials used at every stage of production meet the required consistency standards.
The rating system is divided into five levels, with Trinasolar receiving the top AA rating in all key segments, covering polysilicon, ingots, wafers, cells and modules.
JA Solar debuts DeepBlue 5.0
JA Solar launched its latest innovation, the DeepBlue 5.0 PV module in January. JA Solar has enhanced the module across three critical areas. The wafer offers improved resistivity uniformity, ultra-low oxygen content (3 ppma), and superior minority carrier lifetime. Mass production is expected in Q4 2025.
The DeepBlue 5.0 uses Bycium+ 5.0 cell technology and integrates upgraded electrical architecture, optimized material enhancements, and structural refinements. The result is a module power up to 670W, module efficiency up to 24.8% and an ultra-high open-circuit voltage of 749 mV. DeepBlue 5.0 has a first-year degradation rate of ≤1% and annual linear degradation of ≤0.4%.
The module also boasts superior performance in low-light environments and complex weather conditions, ensuring stable energy output across diverse applications. JA calculates that the DeepBlue 5.0’s optical absorption and electrical optimization techniques, reduces the Levelized Cost of Energy by up to 4.3% compared to its predecessor, DeepBlue 4.0 Pro.
