Tigo expands VPP incentives in Mid-Atlantic states

Solar and storage software company Tigo Energy Inc. has announced expanded incentive for its virtual power plant (VPP) eligible products in the U.S.’s Mid-Atlantic region.
Covering Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia as of late July 2026, the incentives build on existing VPP program availability in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico. The company says the expansion will help more homeowners with Tigo’s residential solar and storage products to participate in bill savings and grid resiliency programs.
“Virtual Power Plant programs are expanding the ways in which homeowners can benefit from residential battery storage, and it’s great to see Advanced-tier Tigo Loyalty Program installers like Green Revolution Solar taking note of this valuable new capability,” said JD Dillon, chief marketing and customer experience officer at Tigo. “Expanding program eligibility gives more installers the opportunity to deliver differentiated energy solutions while helping homeowners unlock additional value from their battery systems.”
American utility companies are continuously expanding programs that utilize distributed storage in order to keep up with spiking electrical demand. Tigo’s VPP capabilities allow homeowners to contribute their stored energy to the wider grid during peak hours, while also maintaining control over total energy usage to optimize bill savings.
Regional expansion
Tigo’s expanded VPP eligibility are part of the company’s mission to “flexible, interoperable energy solutions that adapt to evolving utility programs and regional market opportunities,” representatives say.
The firm’s software aims to combine intelligent energy management capabilities with residential solar and home storage, helping installers to deploy systems that could give back to the grid in the future.
Oleg Lagoviyer, owner of New Jerseyan Tigo installer Green Revolution Solar, says the company’s systems integrate seamlessly, and position the company well for the booming demand for residential storage.
“After more than a decade of experience in the solar industry, as well as installing and servicing inverter systems from most major manufacturers, we now choose Tigo equipment for the majority of our projects,” he says. “We made that decision because Tigo’s module-level optimized systems deliver an exceptional combination of value, performance, and long-term reliability for our customers.
“Equally important, Tigo’s technical support team has consistently proven to be knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with.”
Tigo’s VPP incentive expansion will move to New Jersey and New York shortly following implementation across the Mid-Atlantic, the company says.
