Video: Watch Rosendin Electric’s robot install solar panels

Construction workers are in demand and 100-year old Rosendin Electric has been identifying autonomous solutions that can deliver stronger results than boosting apprenticeships and training incentives. After nearly 3 years of R&D, Rosendin created an 3-piece autonomous robot system that retrieves, holds, and installs heavy solar panels used to build renewable energy projects.

Rosendin’s solar robot

This video is from a solar farm under construction in Texas. The Rosendin Electric robot can speed construction 3x, reduce crews sizes by half, and greatly reduce worker injury. Unlike other systems, Rosendin’s carrier robot can retrieve a full load of PV panels while the other robots install, ensuring a continuous operation no matter the weather. And Rosendin is looking for a manufacturer to build an entire fleet.

Rosendin is the nation’s largest employee-owned electrical contracting company with over 7,500 team members. By promoting quality through operational efficiency, engaged teams deliver their best work on landmark construction projects across the United States.
