SOLON: SOLquick rooftop installation aide
SOLON Corp., a provider of turnkey solar power plants and PV products in the U.S., recently launched SOLquick, a patent pending new plug-and-play commercial rooftop solution. Initial SOLquick flat roof installation has proven to reduce mechanical installation time by more than 85 percent and electrical installation time by 50 percent. SOLquick’s integrated laminate plus mount design features Fibrex material from Andersen Corp. and brings tremendous cost savings, simplicity and design value far above standard module installation practices that benefit project financiers, designers, integrators, installers and end customers.
Together with the launch of SOLquick, SOLON also announced an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with Andersen, the most recognized window brand in the U.S., for its Fibrex material. Through this agreement, SOLON is able to better deliver innovative products, such as SOLquick, to the residential, commercial and utility-scale PV markets. SOLquick‘s lightweight frame is constructed with Fibrex material.
To create a fast and easy to install solution for commercial rooftops, SOLquick is designed to ship directly to the work site — fully assembled as an integrated unit, with laminate and racking all in one. The product can be installed in 10 units per man hour with simple module-to-module connection. Rapid installation is possible because the units require no assembly, grounding or tools for installation. This greatly reduces the costs associated with standard racking methods which require staging, assembly and grounding. In addition, SOLquick is extremely lightweight at less than three pounds per square foot average distributed weight.
