As the need for recovery efforts in Boulder County continues, BayWa r.e., announced a $15,000 donation to the Boulder County Wildfire Fund to address disaster relief, response, and recovery efforts in communities impacted by the wildfire that took place in late December, known as the Marshall fire.

“Our team at BayWa r.e. has deep and personal connections to Colorado, our neighbor in the Southwestern US. Our thoughts are with the Louisville and Superior communities and the families impacted by the recent wildfire. We work closely with many solar contractors who have served this community for years and we are here to support them as they rebuild their lives, businesses, livelihoods, and communities,” said Jodi White, co-CEO at BayWa r.e. Solar Systems LLC. “We are grateful to the Boulder County Wildfire Fund and all the organizations working tirelessly to help the community recover.”

The Marshall fire is the most destructive wildfire in Colorado’s history, having destroyed nearly 1,000 homes. The Boulder County Wildfire Fund is distributing an initial $5 million in financial assistance to those whose homes have been destroyed or damaged and an additional $500,000 to support the needs of evacuees from this fund. Additionally, due to the generosity of donors, the Wildfire Fund is working with government and nonprofit partners to disperse the remaining funds to support those impacted.

“We’ve experienced our fair share of natural disasters in recent years. As the world warms, Colorado’s fire-prone fuels are becoming drier—and therefore more susceptible to wildfires,” said Brandon Reinhardt, Director of Development at BayWa r.e. Solar Projects LLC. “As long-standing partners in Colorado, our priorities today are to support recovery efforts, work with all necessary stakeholders to continue advancing the adoption of renewable energy and preserve the beauty of the Rocky Mountain State for many generations.”

We've discusses everything from residential rail-less deck attaching and home solar financing to large-scale energy storage value stacking and utility-driven new home solar + storage microgrids.
