Gripple sets ‘new standard for cable protection’ with Power-Tie

Suspension solutions manufacturer Gripple has engineered its ‘Power-Tie’ cable product to handle harsh conditions in critical applications, including “secure, efficient, and long-lasting” cable management in the solar industry, the company says.
With housing made from a “corrosion-resistant zinc alloy” and fire-retardant casing and straps, the Power-Tie cable prides itself on reliability and a long product life, representatives say. The casing and strap are both crafted from UV-resistant high density polyethlyene (HDPE) materials, meant to “extend product life and safety in outdoor environments.”
The Power-Tie’s wire rope, manufactured from 316 stainless steel, also provides corrosion resistance and performance for over 20 years at a time in most cases, according to officials from the Aurora, Illinois-based manufacturer.
“The product is designed to operate effectively in temperatures from -40°F to +194°F, making it suitable for both extreme heat and cold,” the company says. “Installation is completely tool-free, enabling rapid deployment and reducing on-site complexity. Power-Tie is available in three size options, making it suitable for virtually any structure and eliminating the need to cut excess wire.”
Along with being completely tool-free, installation of the Power-Tie is “as easy and fast as a traditional zip tie,” according to Gripple.
Keeping a high standard
The material science and design of the Power-Tie have helped the product to deliver “comprehensive, reliable, and efficient” solutions for solar system cable management, according to Gripple officials. The product is compliant with IEC 62275 and UL 62275/CSA 62275, meeting both domestic and international safety standards.
“This feature minimizes the risk of damage to cable jackets, ensuring long-term cable integrity and helping prevent costly operations and maintenance issues,” Gripple says of the wide security strap. “With a robust construction that provides a maximum working load of 264 lbs, a wire rope tensile strength of 227 ksi, and a breaking load of 346 lbs, Power-Tie offers extreme holding power in demanding conditions.”
The differing sizes also offer zero-waste features, Gripple representatives say, with reduced replacement cost and no need to cut excess wire from the product.
