Trina debuts fully integrated Elementa 2 Pro storage platform in North America

Next-generation system delivers 10 or 20 MWh turnkey configurations with full cell-to-AC integration, supply chain traceability, and extended lifetimes

Trina Storage Elementa 2 Pro

A 20-foot container with 20 MWh of storage capacity is now part of Trina Storage Solutions’ North American lineup. The company announced its Elementa 2 Pro Platform this week, a fully wrapped, cell-to-AC energy storage system designed for utility-scale applications.

The platform comes in two turnkey versions: a 10 MWh (2-hour) system and a 20 MWh (4-hour) system. Both integrate battery cells, PCS, transformers, and energy management software into one cohesive package supported by Trina.

From DC blocks to full integration

Trina Storage framed the launch as a deliberate move beyond “just a DC block.” By controlling the entire system architecture, the company says it can reduce procurement complexity, eliminate common integration challenges, and shorten commissioning timelines.

“Our Elementa 2 Pro Platform redefines what it means to deliver a complete storage solution,” said Terry Chen, vice president of Trina Storage Solutions U.S. “From traceability and State-Side Integration Testing (SSIT) to real-world performance modeling, every layer of this platform is designed to reduce risk, accelerate deployment, and maximize value for our customers.”

Long-life LFP cells and safety features

At the heart of Elementa 2 Pro are 314 Ah LFP cells with liquid cooling, engineered to deliver up to 5% higher State of Health at year 20 and extend project lifetimes beyond 25 years. Trina says the improved durability reduces the need for augmentation and lowers long-term project CAPEX.

Safety and reliability features include:

  • Compliance with UL 9540A, UL1973, CE, and UN standards
  • IP55/IP67 environmental protection
  • Advanced fire safety systems
  • Operating range of –22 °C to 50 °C

Digital traceability system

The launch also marks the debut of Trina Storage Trace, a proprietary digital tool for component-level transparency. Each part — from cells to controls — is serialized and traceable from raw material to installed product. The system is designed to give developers visibility into supply chains, simplify ESG reporting, and support compliance with emerging regulations.

“The storage market has moved beyond standalone DC blocks,” said Doug Alderton, head of sales and marketing for Trina Storage Solutions U.S. “Customers expect trusted partners, fully wrapped systems, better performance and faster delivery. The Elementa 2 Pro Platform delivers on all of that – and more.”
