SPAN adds 16- and 24-circuit smart electrical panels

SPAN panels

The smart electrical panel makers at SPAN continue to add options for installers and builders wanting pushing to electrify homes without asking homeowners or utilities to face the limits of existing infrastructure.

“The need for smarter, more resilient home energy systems has never been greater,” said Arch Rao, SPAN Founder and CEO.

SPAN just added two new models, the SPAN Panel MAIN 16 and MLO 24, that are designed to enable solar and battery additions, ADUs, EV chargers and other home electrification projects. SPAN Panel MAIN 16 and MLO 24 models join the latest generation product line that includes SPAN Panel MAIN 40 and MLO 48, which were announced earlier this year and are now available nationwide.

“Regardless of the home size or panel model you choose, the newest generation of our product line retains the cutting-edge technology and ease-of-use found in the original model while also providing more choice, scalability, and flexibility for everyone.”

Overview of SPAN MAIN 16 and MLO 24

The smaller size of MAIN 16 and MLO 24 makes them the most affordable SPAN retrofit solution yet, ideal as a main panel for smaller homes, additions, or multi-family units or as a subpanel for medium and larger homes.

All SPAN Panel models offer visibility and control over every connected circuit and appliance, empowering homeowners to save money on their utility bills. And just like SPAN Panel MAIN 32, MAIN 40 and MLO 48, the new models offer SPAN PowerUp energy management system (EMS) software, which allows the addition of new, large electrical appliances like EV chargers, heat pumps, hot tubs, and induction cooking without a costly utility service upgrade.

When SPAN Panel is paired with solar and home battery, homeowners can set custom backup priorities and extend battery life by up to 40% in a power outage.

The release of the new panel models follows the March 2025 announcement of SPAN Edge, the Intelligent Service Point™ (ISP) for utilities that reduces per-home costs to electrify and can ease grid strain during periods of high demand. SPAN Panel MAIN 16 and MLO 24 are available for pre-order and require professional installation by a SPAN Authorized Installer.
