Fronius, MidNite Solar team on AC-coupled solar + storage solution
Fronius fans can now combine the Fronius GEN24 with the energy security of MidNite Solar. The two companies completed testing showing full AC-coupled compatibility between the Fronius GEN24 and Midnite Rosie, product number MNROSIE7048RE.
AC coupling is great for retrofits. AC coupling allows a battery-based inverter to charge batteries and power a home with the power from a grid-tied inverter during a grid failure. It does this by providing a voltage signal to the grid-tied inverter, so it continues to make power as if the grid was still present. Batteries will be charged from the battery-based inverter, ensuring the system is operating with maximum runtime.
The Rosie inverter offers the surge power of a low frequency inverter, with the added benefit of reduced weight. Pairing the MidNite Rosie Inverter AC Coupled battery-based system to your Fronius GEN24 string inverter pairs the efficiency of the string inverter with a low-voltage DC battery.
It also pairs two veteran power electronic companies in this space. MidNite has been manufacturing products for renewable energy for over 20 years, all designed and manufactured in Arlington, Wash.
