Bidding Wars: Qcells adds Geli Predict to fleet of BESS tools

In our Bidding Wars series, we will look at the BESS operators and optimizers that are playing (and winning) in the evolving energy market and grid services game.

Qcells and Geli Predict

Managing distributed energy resources (DERs) has become increasingly complex and requires smart software tools to make effective designs fast. Qcells got ahead of the curve in 2020 by acquiring Geli‘s software platform and proprietary artificial intelligence technology. They have since invested heavily in R&D. This week, the company announced a major evolution of its software portfolio, Geli Energy Software by Qcells, with the release of Geli Predict.

Geli Predict is modeling and simulation platform for Solar + BESS and standalone storage projects. It is designed for community, commercial, industrial (CCI) sectors, and utilities, and it integrates artificial intelligence to improve system design, performance optimization, and real-time energy monitoring.

Predict is currently available for California-based projects, with plans to expand into multiple new markets by the end of 2025.

“Since acquiring Geli, Qcells has made significant strides in enhancing its software capabilities across market segments,” said Jin Han, Head of the CCI Department at Qcells North America. “This launch is a direct result of those investments and underscores our mission to lead in AI powered energy management with best-in-class tools.”
