Boviet Solar Technology Co. officially opened the doors on its PV module plant in Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina—its first U.S. manufacturing facility. The $294-million facility will produce high-performance Gamma Series Monofacial and Vega Series Bifacial PV modules with PERC and N-Type solar cell technology. Boviet Solar modules are built for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications.

With over 1 million square feet of advanced manufacturing and R&D space, this project is one of the largest clean energy manufacturing investments in North Carolina. This opening completes Phase 1 of the factory, which enables an annual PV module output capacity of 2 GW.

Phase 2 is scheduled to begin operation in H2 2026 and will include an additional $100-million investment in another approximately 600,000 square feet for an annual capacity of 2 GW of high-efficiency PV cell manufacturing.

“North Carolina continues to be a leader in the clean energy economy, and I am proud to welcome Boviet Solar as it opens its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Greenville,” said Governor Josh Stein. “As our state grows, so do our energy needs. I look forward to partnering with Boviet Solar to strengthen our workforce and build stronger clean tech infrastructure in North Carolina.”

Boviet Solar U.S. Phase 1

Phase 1 will ultimately create 460 direct skilled local jobs, while Phase 2 will add another 908 jobs for an expected total of more than 1,310. The plant is also estimated to support about 1,965 indirect positions, bringing more than 3,200 jobs to the region. Boviet’s expansion will have a positive ripple effect across the local economy, including increasing demand for real estate, growing local commerce, and strengthening education and workforce partnerships.

“With nearly 110,000 people working in our clean energy sector, North Carolina ranks ninth in the nation for clean energy jobs,” said N.C. Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley. “Boviet is a powerful addition to our supply chain that includes a roster of 220 solar companies that are helping to provide more low-carbon energy sources.”

“The grand opening of our Greenville facility is a milestone moment for Boviet Solar and a testament to our enduring commitment to the U.S. market,” said Marco Marques, General Manager of Boviet Solar USA Manufacturing Operation. “This facility allows us to manufacture high-performance PV modules on American soil, strengthening domestic clean energy supply chains and making meaningful contributions to North American energy independence and economic growth.”
