Tigo Energy adds 725W TS4-A, debuts off-grid solar package

Tigo Energy is matching market demands by adding higher power module level power electronics (MLPE), and also by launching an off-grid solar + storage package.
“Adding key upgrades to the electrical specs and in-demand features with this evolution of the TS4 product family answers the requests we have received from customers across the globe,” said Gal Bauer, senior director of validation, growth, and product management at Tigo Energy.
The new TS4-A products are fully backward-compatible with other Tigo TS4 products and introduce Multi-factor Rapid Shutdown (MFRS) capability across the entire product line. Let’s take a look.
Tigo 725W TS4-A at a glance
Tigo is scaling up the TS4-A line with a product rated to 725W and 22A current. They are rated for a maximum input voltage of up to 80V per module. The 725W Tigo TS4-A models have increased power and current to keep pace with the increase in high-current solar modules deployed by installers. For countries requiring UL-certification of MLPE products, the 725W TS4-A-O is available immediately.
The 725W TS4-A retains the form factor and inverter compatibility of the others. As with the previous generation, the 725W Tigo TS4-A product line reduces balance-of-system (BOS) and labor costs with a 10-second, no-bolt frame mounting design and no need for additional ground wiring.
The 725W TS4-A-O is compatible with the Tigo Access Point (TAP) for data management with Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) and is fully compatible with Tigo RSS Transmitters.
Tigo High-Performance Off-Grid Solar Package
The new Tigo High-Performance Off-Grid Solar package comes as a response to customer requests to simplify off-grid solar + storage systems that also enhance solar production and storage. The High-Performance Off-Grid Solar package combines all the components required to deliver fully integrated solar + storage system, along with Tigo’s Total Quality Solar (TQS).
Based on parallels observed by Tigo in customer inquiries, the global off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) market is projected to grow at a rate of around 8% annually through 2030. We reported a similar market sentiment.
“When designing solar systems outside the reach of the grid, maximizing production and efficiency are the name of the game, and we’re excited to see how Tigo can deliver on that with this off-grid package,” said Matt Smucker, President at Zonna Energy LLC.
The core of the Off-Grid Solar package is the Tigo EI Residential Solar Solution, which has DC-coupled configurations of either 20 kWh or 40 kWh of storage, and can help ensure continuous power availability with generator integration.
The self-guided activation feature of the High-Performance Off-Grid Solar package empowers installers to configure off-grid operation independently via the Tigo EI App. The system’s advanced energy management capabilities and DC architecture eliminate round-trip power conversion losses for storage, module mismatch and shading, and clipping losses.
The Tigo High-Performance Off-Grid Solar package will be featured at the Annual Zonna Solar Conference, taking place from May 6 to 7 in Berlin, OH.
