Yingli’s bifacial modules take home Chinese Technology Innovation Award for 2016
Yingli Green Energy Holding Co.’s PANDA Bifacial modules, which just received China General Certification, received another honor from the Top Runner Program — the Chinese Technology Innovation Award for 2016. This was announced during the 2016 Innovation Conference of Top Runner Program of China held in early January 2017.
“We are glad to see that our PANDA Bifacial module continues to gain industry and market recognition, demonstrating its high quality and technology leadership,” commented Dr. Dengyuan Song, Chief Technology Officer of Yingli. “Yingli will always commit to technology innovation in order to reduce the cost of solar power generation and make solar electricity affordable and accessible for all.”

PANDA Bifacial module details
The PANDA Bifacial module is based on Yingli’s PANDA n-type monocrystalline solar cell, which can generate power not only from the front side, but also from the rear side by leveraging reflected light in the environment. Therefore, the power yields of the PANDA Bifacial module can be increased by up to 30% compared to the situation when it only generates from the front side. With a maximum system voltage of 1500 Volts (V), PANDA Bifacial module can improve system performance and help to reduce the balance-of-system costs by up to 25%.
