Unirac Introduces Ground-Mount Tracker at Intersolar
Unirac Inc., a Hilti Group Company and the leading provider of high quality, competitive PV mounting solutions in North America, is introducing a new PV tracker system at the Intersolar North America 2013 tradeshow at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif. The Unirac Ground Mount Tracker, or “GMT,” has redefined “simplicity,” offering installers an easy to assemble, high-quality, and low-maintenance tracker solution.
“The Unirac GMT is the result of years of proven performance from a company that has made quality service a priority,” says Peter Lorenz, Unirac CEO. “This product is designed to reduce project costs, as well as the risks and complexity of installations in the field. Reliability is a key feature of Unirac’s GMT. Maintenance-free split bearings allow for fluid rotation of the torque tube and are engineered to withstand 30 times the dynamic load, 70 times the static load. The GMTs actuator is a proven technology used for more than 100 years in the automotive industry. Tested for harsh environments, installers will also benefit from reduced copper, power requirements, wiring and trenching from traditional drive systems.
In addition, the tracker comes standard with a “plug-n-play” controller, intuitively designed to drive pairs of actuators on shared foundations. All of these features reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) for solar installation, removing unnecessary material, substantially reducing labor requirements and increases the overall strength and reliability of solar racking over the long term.
