Tecta Solar Completes 1.9-MW Ground Mount in Massachusetts

Tecta Solar, a division of Tecta America Corp., recently completed the installation of 1,970-kW of solar photovoltaics in Barre, Mass. The multi-phase ground mounted project includes two 985-kW systems, and will be expanded with an additional 1,800 kW of capacity to be installed this year.

In its first year of operation, the systems are projected to generate a total of 2,483 MWh of energy, which is equivalent to powering 310 average Massachusettshomes for a year. The system features Solectria inverters, Solar FlexRack fixed tilt-racking and Suntech photovoltaic modules.

Tecta Solar managed every phase of the project, including design, engineering, procurement, construction, SREC registration and commissioning of the ground mounted project. Dean Iandoli who, along with his partner Michael Staiti, own the two installations, said, “Given that this was Quabbin’s first solar project, it was important for us to find a company who we could trust to diligently manage the installation.Brett Chapmanand his Tecta team were incredibly responsive, helpful and did a phenomenal job.  It’s the reason my partner and I are again using Tecta to install our next 1.8-MW solar project.”

Tecta Solar has installed more than 5,600 kW of solar photovoltaic systems inMassachusetts, including the first commercial solar photovoltaic system to be qualified for the Massachusetts RPS Solar Carve-Out and the largest rooftop solar photovoltaic project to date. By capacity, Tecta Solar has installed over 15 percent of all commercial solar carve-out projects inMassachusetts.
