SolarMax Technology Completes Hotel Project in New Jersey
“A hotel often has high energy consumption because of the many rooms and amenities that have to be powered,” said David Hsu, SolarMax Technology President. “The carport solar system we installed at the Wyndham in New Jersey will help offset the hotel’s energy bills by 67 percent.”
The system is comprised of 12 carports with 3,150 solar panels that harvest the sun and create clean power at the point of use. The system will produce 850,945 kWh’s a year and eliminate 1.6 million pounds of carbon dioxide. The reduction in CO2 emissions is equivalent to planting 168 acres of trees a year.
The Wyndham Hotel agreed to purchase and receive all of the electricity generated by the solar panels at a fixed rate from SolarMax Technology under a 15 year power purchase agreement.
The Wyndham project went online this week and is part of a myriad of solar installations SolarMax Technology is providing for businesses, schools and residential clients. SolarMax is building solar carports all over New Jersey including a 148-kW structure at Wayne Jewish Center; a 2 mW system at Sahara Sam Oasis; a 2.7 mW installation at Robert Johnson Hospital and a 1.5 mW South Jersey Transportation Authority build.
