Freedom Forever teams with Costello’s Ace Hardware to bring solar advice into neighborhood stores
Partnership launches in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, giving homeowners access to in-person solar and storage guidance backed by Freedom Forever’s 25-year guarantee

Shoppers in select Costello’s Ace Hardware stores across the Northeast will soon be able to walk out with more than paint, tools, or garden supplies—they can also connect directly with solar professionals.
Freedom Forever, one of the country’s largest residential solar installers, announced a retail partnership with Costello’s Ace Hardware, one of the largest independently owned Ace operators. The collaboration kicks off in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, embedding Freedom Forever staff inside participating stores to answer questions about system design, financing, battery storage, and installation timelines.
The model aims to lower barriers for families who are curious about solar but hesitant to start the process online or through cold calls. Freedom Forever says its 25-year production guarantee will remain a central part of the offer, providing long-term assurance for homeowners.
“Partnering with Costello’s Ace Hardware allows us to meet homeowners where they already shop and provide clear, practical guidance on clean energy solutions,” said Chad Towner, CRO of Freedom Forever.
For Costello’s Ace, the move extends its traditional home-improvement role into the energy space.
“Our focus has always been on serving our communities and helping customers find solutions that make their homes better,” said Joey Costello, director of strategic partnerships at Costello’s Ace Hardware. “Together, we’re making it easier for families to explore clean energy options in a setting they already know and trust.”
Community-focused rollout
Costello’s Ace Hardware operates 51 stores across five states, with deep roots in neighborhood communities. Its local-first approach aligns with Freedom Forever’s expansion strategy, which now spans 30 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
The companies say the retail program is designed to make solar conversations less intimidating and more accessible by moving them into everyday spaces. Interested homeowners will be able to schedule consultations directly in store, rather than navigating solar sales through online lead forms or third-party brokers.
Freedom Forever moves
The residential solar industry is changing, and Freedom Forever is definitely trying new things to stay ahead of the curve. In addition to this Ace partnership, Freedom Forever launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) assistant named Raya to help streamline project support and improve communication with its nationwide network of sales partners. Freedom Forever told us the tool will accelerate internal workflows, reduce project delays, and enhance the experience for sales partners and homeowners alike.
