EcoFlow STREAM now available in Utah along with new smart meter

EcoFlow Ultra+Microinverter+Solar Panels

EcoFlow’s compact and modular “plug-and-play” solar solution, STREAM, is now available for purchase in Utah — the company’s first U.S. launch site. Customers who order within the first month will benefit from early bird pricing and immediate shipping, as EcoFlow looks to bring its European “balcony solar” success stateside. Utah is a unique market, and the only U.S. state in which STREAM is available, but EcoFlow is expected to expand STREAM’s availability beyond Utah later this year.

STREAM is designed for renters and condo dwellers who’ve typically been locked out of rooftop solar installations. The system requires no permitting or professional installation. Instead, users position solar panels on balconies or patios and plug into a standard AC outlet.

“We’ve successfully launched this solution across Europe over the past two years with more than 120,000 units sold,” said Brian Essenmacher, head of North American business development at EcoFlow. “We’re now applying our global experience to bring flexible solar options to Americans beyond just single-family homes.”

Wade into the STREAM

The STREAM Series includes two core products:

  • STREAM Microinverter: Converts up to 1,200W of solar power directly into household electricity via a standard wall outlet.
  • STREAM Ultra: A 1.92 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a built-in 1,200W microinverter and up to 2,000W solar input capacity.

For more demanding setups, users can pair the Ultra with the Microinverter for up to 3,200W total solar input — expanding modularly up to 11.52 kWh of storage.

STREAM Ultra’s LFP battery retains 70% of its capacity after 6,000 cycles and performs in temperatures as low as -14°F. It carries a NEMA 4 enclosure rating, while the Microinverter is NEMA 6 rated.

New meter for smarter self-consumption

EcoFlow has added a new feature to STREAM Ultra — compatibility with the Shelly Pro 3EM Smart Meter. This device offers millisecond-level load monitoring and enables STREAM to optimize energy use in real-time.

New capabilities include:

  • Maximum solar self-consumption: The meter coordinates solar production, storage and household demand. It also enables AI-based Time-of-Use (TOU) optimization for more efficient cycling.
  • Anti-backfeed protection: When the battery is full and usage is low, the system automatically adjusts to avoid sending excess power to the grid — helpful for areas with interconnection limitations or safety regulations.

Smarter system control with EcoFlow OASIS

All STREAM setups integrate with EcoFlow’s OASIS energy management system via the company’s app. OASIS tracks usage, optimizes charging for TOU pricing, and issues smart recommendations. It also includes a multilingual 24/7 AI assistant to guide users through setup, monitor performance, and troubleshoot common questions.
