Dynamic Solar Brings Green Energy to Sandy Hill Camp in Maryland

Sandy Hill Camp and Retreat Center recently commissioned a 152-kW solar system for its beautiful 220-acre facilities overlooking the stunning Chesapeake Bay. Dynamic Solar, a fully integrated energy developer, provided design, engineering and construction.

For such a magnificent, natural piece of land, going green was an easy decision. Greg and Kathy Ann Joseph have been the camp directors at Sandy Hill since 1995. “Working with Dynamic Solar has proven to be a positive experience. We are impressed by the quality and responsiveness of their staff.  We are excited to be able to showcase renewable energy to the thousands of campers, parents, and retreat guests who come to reconnect with the outdoors and to enjoy the beauty of camp on the Chesapeake Bay each year,” said Greg Joseph, Director of Sandy Hill Camp and Retreat Center.

The newly installed system, constructed in partnership with AUI Inc., is expected to offset 127 metric tons of CO2 each year, which is 3,175 tons over a quarter of a century. This is comparable to removing 625 cars from Maryland’s roads over the system’s 25 year warranted lifetime. Each year, the system is expected to generate approximately 185,000 hours of energy. That energy will be used directly by the many campground faculties.
