Cenergy Power Completes 472-kW Rooftop Installation at Ready Roast Nut Company Facility
Ready Roast Nut Company, an industrial supplier and custom processor of whole and manufactured tree nuts, and Cenergy Power, a solar developer with market-leading solar solutions, have completed the construction on a 472-kW solar PV system at Ready Roast Nut Company’s facility in Madera, Calif.
“Our new solar PV system is one of many investments Ready Roast has initiated to work as a collaborative partner with our customers to help achieve mutual sustainability objectives,” says Audrey Maring, Business Development at Ready Roast Nut. “We believe it is our commitment to our customer, employees and community to reduce our environmental impact.”
Cenergy Power was selected to design and construct the solar system due to its proven reputation and engineering expertise. The solar system spans across approximately 70,000 square feet of roof space and is optimally designed to generate more than 670,000 kWh of clean power a year, offset more than 90 percent of the facility’s cold storage electric utility usage and save more than $5 million of utility charges for 25 years.
“Timing could not have been better since we are anticipating our energy demand to increase due to the energy loads from our new cold storage capacity,” says Dave Wissing, Director of Operations at Ready Roast Nut. As part of the solar arrangement, Cenergy Power will be providing 10 years of scheduled operations and maintenance work, including but not limited to touch-free panel cleanings, preventative maintenance & repair, and overall system warranties.
