BLUETTI launches EP6K, an AC-coupled home battery built for retrofit solar
BLUETTI’s EP6K system enables outage-proof microgrids without replacing an existing inverter, boosting solar self-consumption from ~20% to as high as 80%

For houses with rooftop solar, BLUETTI is pitching a new retrofit-friendly path to backup power and bill savings — the EnergyPro 6K (EP6K) — the company’s first AC-coupled battery system.
Each wall-mountable EP6K module delivers 5.76 kW and 7.68 kWh. Homeowners can run one or two units for critical loads, or scale to five units in parallel for whole-home backup — a combined 28.8 kW / 38.4 kWh. BLUETTI says that configuration can run a lightly-used home off-grid for up to 10 days.
AC coupling and ROI angle
Paired with the new AT1 Smart Distribution Panel, the EP6K controls power from solar, grid, generators, and EVs. BLUETTI says the system can raise solar self-consumption from ~20% to as high as 80%, shortening payback to as little as five years, depending on household load and tariff design. The system maintains array production during outages and provides automatic load management based on weather alerts.
Specs & install details
- Scalable: 1–5 units (7.7–38.4 kWh)
- Output: 5.76 kW per unit (up to 28.8 kW stacked)
- Chemistry: LiFePO₄ with 10-year warranty
- Installation: AC-coupled; compatible with existing inverter brands
- Thermals & acoustics: Passive air-cooled, ~31 dB
- Control: BLUETTI app or optional EMS display
- Form factor: 7.3-inch chassis, wall or floor mount
BLUETTI positions the EP6K as a way for the retrofit market to add resilience without re-engineering the PV system — a move aimed squarely at the large installed base of PV-only homes now seeking backup, bill control, and grid-event immunity.
