AWM rolls out six new wire, cable management solutions

Bonded hangers, stronger hangers, a purpose-built pile, an aluminum zip tie replacement, and expanded BESS cleats debut at RE+ 2025

Affordable Wire Management (AWM) used the RE+ 2025 stage to launch a suite of new cable management products aimed at solving long-standing pain points in utility-scale PV and energy storage. The releases include updated hangers with higher safety standards, a redesigned pile foundation, and a new strap to finally replace plastic zip ties in solar fields.

“By broadening our offerings, AWM is ensuring developers and EPCs have purpose-built options that eliminate the need to compromise and adapt,” said Scott Rand, CEO and co-founder of AWM.

Bonded Bonsai: slippage-free and electrically bonded

Bonded Bonsai from AWM

AWM’s Bonded Bonsai hanger builds on its existing Bonsai line with a secure, electrically bonded design that prevents slippage or detachment over decades of use. Offered in multiple formats for bifacial and thin-film modules, the all-metal hanger eliminates long-term maintenance risks while meeting rigorous bonding requirements that go beyond current certifications. The tool-free installation allows one-handed assembly in the field and is rated for electrical bonding standards.

“Given that utility-scale solar projects are rated for nearly 40 years, ALL of the components in those projects should conform to the highest industry standards and properly function for that long. AWM’s commitment is to make sure the practices and codes we follow go above and beyond, mitigating risks in all possible areas,” remarked Dan Smith, CTO and Co-founder of AWM.

Gen 5 Arden Hanger: stronger, lighter, longer-lasting

The Arden Hanger, AWM’s most widely deployed solution across tens of gigawatts of projects, has been reengineered for its fifth generation. Gen 5 improves strength by 20% while reducing material by 10%, lowering both costs and O&M risk compared to plastic hangers. Built from corrosion-resistant metal alloys with a 90+ year lifespan, the new version optimizes cable ampacity, adds refined retention features, and maintains large-radius cable contact points to protect insulation.

EZ Pile: a foundation designed for CMS loads

AWM EZ Pile

AWM is introducing EZ Pile, a new foundation engineered specifically for cable management system (CMS) loads, rather than adapting tracker-style piles. The result is lower steel requirements, faster installation, and simpler field labor. The pile uses an optimized steel profile and a low-tool design that reduces time and cost in deployment. Adaptable to varied terrain, EZ Pile supports multiple CMS configurations, making it a purpose-built alternative to overbuilt structural piles.

Solar Strap: replacing plastic zip ties for good

AWM Solar Strap

Plastic zip ties remain one of the most failure-prone components in solar wire management. AWM’s new Solar Strap replaces them with a corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy strap designed to last 40 years or more. The strap requires no tools, offers high mechanical strength, and flexes to fit various layouts without cracking or degrading. “Our Solar Strap replaces that failure point with a solution that lasts as long as the plant itself,” Rand said, noting the benefits extend to EPCs and asset owners alike.

Strata Cleats and Strata Stack: expanded suite for BESS applications

AWM Strata Cleats

Within its Strata for BESS product family, AWM is adding Strata Cleats to support a wider range of DC and AC cable sizes in utility-scale storage and hybrid plants. The cleats integrate a cable saddle feature that allows smaller cables to be supported without separate hangers. They maintain IEC fault-rated current testing and spacing standards, ensuring reliability and safety in high-capacity storage layouts.

Meanwhile, the Strata Stack is a turnkey cable management solution specifically designed for Fluence’s Smartstack. The Fluence product line integrates state-of-the-art battery modules, management systems, and monitoring equipment into a unified architecture, enhancing operations and system safety. Built for demanding market applications, the Fluence offering is known for industry-leading reliability, scalability, and safety.

Strata Stack for Fluence

At the center of AWM’s Strata Stack for Fluence is a single-bolt, fault-rated cleat within an innovative clamp system, designed to last the lifetime of any stand-alone storage or hybrid renewables power plant. AWM’s Strata Stack is field-adjustable, flexible and adaptable, compatible with a range of foundation types. Strata Stack allows for up to 4.5 feet of spacing in between each cable cleat.

Together, these products reinforce AWM’s all-metal, ampacity-optimized approach to wire management, targeting the 40-year lifespans now expected of utility-scale PV and BESS projects.
