Trina Storage will be presenting its findings from full-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) fire testing at a conference in Dallas next week. The company is serving as a Gold Sponsor at the Energy Storage Summit USA 2026, March 24-24, in Dallas, Texas, and Mike Watson, head of product North America for Trina Storage, will be giving a presentation on the BESS fire testing results.

The Energy Storage Summit is the leading energy storage event in the United States, themed around policy, procurement and power demand. The event brings together leaders from all sectors of the energy storage industry. Trina Storage will have a table exhibit at the summit, where its North America team will meet with customers and attendees to showcase Trina’s industry-leading technology.

Watson’s presentation on March 24 is titled “Raising the Bar on BESS Safety: Lessons from Full-Scale Fire Testing Under the New NFPA 855.” During the session, Watson will analyze the implications of the new National Fire Protection Association 855 standard, while also discussing recent full-scale fire testing conducted on Trina Storage’s 5 MWh Elementa 2 Pro platform. The presentation will highlight how the Elementa 2 Pro system demonstrated resilience, structural integrity and productivity of their battery storage systems full-scale fire testing. Watson will also explore upcoming developments and goals for Trina Storage in North America as a whole.

With the fast development of energy storage technology and a growing U.S. presence, Trina Storage is well positioned to support the global energy transition. Company officials believe that energy storage is a critical enabler of renewable integration and grid stability.

As utilities, developers and power producers increasingly adopt energy storage, they face the challenge of identifying partners with proven system integration and large-scale project execution capabilities. The company has surpassed 20 GWh in global shipments by end of 2025 and continues to expand its North American footprint with multiple GWh-scale projects signed.
