Sprocket Power joins Schneider Electric’s Microgrid Flex Partner Program

Sprocket Power

Sprocket Power is the inaugural partner of Schneider Electric’s Microgrid Flex Partner Program, a program designed to deliver the benefits of microgrids to a broad range of facilities.

The collaboration between Schneider Electric and Sprocket Power is focused on the streamlined delivery of these benefits, thereby increasing market adoption and expanding value creation in the microgrid market valued at $77 billion in 2023 and expanding 17% through 2030.

Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Microgrid Flex

A microgrid is a localized group of electricity sources and loads that can operate independently from the traditional centralized grid. The challenge with microgrids is often the complexity of designing and controlling a variety of variable loads and power sources.

Schneider Electric is a top microgrid integrator and distributed energy resource management systems (DERMs) provider, and its Schneider’s EcoStruxure Microgrid Flex brings together microgrid control, electrical distribution, software, and battery storage systems to reduce complexity. In 2024, Schneider Electric microgrids in the United States managed more than 100 gigawatts of energy, enough to power 75 million homes.

“Microgrids are being installed throughout the U.S. at hospitals, universities, businesses, schools, and airports, as the country’s grid experiences failures due to age and weather-related disruptions,” said Don Wingate, Vice President Sales – Strategic Customers and Solutions – New Energy Landscape at Schneider Electric.

Spruce Power as inaugural partner

Sprocket Power is a leader in the development and implementation of microgrids to address the challenges of electrification and high utility costs and to meet resiliency needs. Their success in developing and executing early microgrids has brought attention to the value these projects deliver to multiple stakeholders.

Schneider Electric’s EcoXpert Partner Program unites a network of over 4,500 certified partners across 80 countries. As the inaugural entrant in the Microgrid Partner program, Sprocket Power will identify candidates for the Microgrid Flex system and develop projects from concept to execution and operation. This partnership marks a crucial step on the path to becoming a Certified EcoXpert Partner for Microgrids.

“We are thrilled to work with Schneider Electric on their Microgrid Flex Program,” said Maria Fields, CEO and Co-Founder of Sprocket Power. “Microgrids are deeply valuable, but potential host sites often face barriers to accessing and maximizing that value. Schneider Electric brings critical resources, a well-earned reputation, and a smart approach to opening this market, and we are looking forward to partnering with the company to deliver on this promise.”

EcoXpert partners are trained and certified in Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure architecture and platforms, enabling them to digitize and electrify operations for a more sustainable future. The program offers 17 specialized certification paths, covering areas such as building automation, power distribution, and critical infrastructure management.
